The importance of self-love is something everyone should have the opportunity to fully understand and experience.

The only reason Beheld exists is because of you. Despite what the saying “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” suggests, you hold beauty and no one else gets to decide whether or not you’re beautiful for you. You have the power to grow and immerse yourself in love for all that you are.

Loving yourself isn’t always the easiest thing. You have other responsibilities to focus on, obligations that require your attention and constant pressures and standards forced upon you. Between social media, magazine covers and the media, it’s nearly impossible to believe that beauty has no set rules and regulations.

Many people will say that they don’t believe there is “right” or “wrong” when it comes to beauty, but have a hard time applying this same concept to themselves. That’s where Beheld steps in.

Hi there! I’m Kelsey, and I’m the creator of this movement. The Beheld Self-Love Boot Camp comes from my own experiences with depression, self-hate and insecurities. After totally revising my thought process and daily routines to better my mental health, I decided to devote my life to helping others get out of the lowest of lows and recognize their immense value.

Beheld originally started out with a simple format featuring four models each month with some photos of them “stripped down” to their natural selves and a glimpse into the highs and lows of their self-love journey. Now, the word “journey” can be applied much more generously since only one beautiful human will be featured each month with a whole four weeks of insight into their experience with Beheld.

Since the revamp and remodeling of Beheld, it’s become much more about recognizing why you should love yourself and how to apply that to day-to-day life. What’s the point of having an awesome experience if it doesn’t change the way you do anything? Through this new program, implementing self-love tendencies into every day routines becomes a much more attainable and necessary thing.

So, where do you come into play? How can Beheld make a difference in your life, even if you aren’t one of the twelve models each year?

The stories you’ll find on Beheld aren’t available anywhere else. They’re real, raw and genuine. And, sometimes, they’re the perfect reminder that you’re not alone in your journey.

It’s the same reason we decide to curl up by a fireplace with some hot cocoa to read a biography of our favorite celebrity. We love to know about other people and their lives, whether or not we’ll ever meet them in person. Their stories and journeys and experiences inspire us to evaluate our own lives and the obstacles we face with a new mindset.

While currently the Beheld Self-Love Boot Camp booklet and resources aren’t available to the general public, it’s my hope to make a reader-friendly version so everyone can experience what the Beheld models do. When you make loving yourself a part of your to-do list each day, you start seeing just how much it matters and what a difference it can actually make in your confidence and how you present yourself.

Beheld's Self-Love Boot Camp

If you’re wanting to know more about the formula behind Beheld and all the experiences/journeys you see on it, you’ve come to the right place! Before I get further into the specifics, I’ll explain the general idea of it in case you missed out on some mentions of it earlier.

Beheld’s Self-Love Boot Camp is based off of a questionnaire filled out by all future participants that helps determine which approach is right for them. This includes their personal insecurities, beliefs, morals, characteristics, interests, likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses and preferences for various elements of the beauty world. So, depending on the answers they provide, I create a four week self-love regimen for them to follow consisting of homework assignments, various photoshoots, challenges, weekly interviews and journal entries.

While a lot of people enjoyed Beheld’s original format, spreading each featured person’s experience over the course of four weeks not only allows a more apparent transformation, but a better set up for them once it’s all over. The mindset of self-love and confidence will be more of a habit than an issued command at that point. For the readers, it gives a much better look into the individual’s journey. Rather than just a page of their story, it’s like a whole chapter.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in participating in, answer the questions in our questionnaire and submit it to be reviewed. There is no guarantee that you’ll be able to appear on Beheld since participants are chosen at random, but there’s no hurt in trying! At the very least, it shows me more people are interested than Beheld can feature, meaning I’ll work on getting a reader-friendly version out sooner.
